Fontaines D.C. manager Trevor Dietz has died

We are devastated to hear about the death of Trevor Dietz, best known to us all as Trev Radiator, manager of Fontaines D.C., DJ booker for The Workman’s, Club promoter and all round champion of the Irish music scene. Trev lived and breathed music. From his Radiator showcase live band and DJ nights in the early 2000’s to his brilliant work programming clubnights in The Workman’s to his nurturing and stewardship of Fontaines DC, Trev’s unquenchable energy and enthusiasm was infectious and influential. His death, on Sunday, June 7th, was confirmed this afternoon by the “utterly heartbroken” band. “Trevor was beside us from the beginning of our journey as a band, we have never known Fontaines D.C. without him, the sixth member of the band,” they wrote on social media.

“He cared passionately for us and for what was fair and right in the wider world. He was fearless in his beliefs. We will miss him always. We ask that you kindly respect our privacy and that of his family at this terribly difficult time. RIP Trev”

The Goo editor John Brereton said “Trev changed the Irish musical landscape, His clubnights were legendary and his ability to spot and curate new talent was unparalleled. He did an amazing job with Fontaines D.C. and our heart goes out to the band at this moment. I last saw him backstage at their 3Arena gig last year where we reminisced about those heady early 2000’s days over dinner. He was in great form. Peace, love and condolences to his partner Anna, his family and friends. Rest in peace Trev.”
