Bleech 9:3 – Underrated
Each song released by Irish alt-grunge outfit Bleech 9:3 to date has fizzed and
frothed. This latest single, about negative worship that adroitly deploys quiet-loud
dynamics, doesn’t buck the trend. After a ferocious opening it settles, then the
tension starts to build. A dazzling guitar countermelody set against the vocal
intensifies the track before it erupts again into the squalling guitar, chunky bass, and
muscular drumming of the opening. And repeat. There’s a certain ‘next big thing’
quality about this lot.
